Terms of Use

By downloading or using Shimaru, you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard licensed application terms, which apply to all App Store apps. You must be at least 13 years old to use Shimaru.

What Shimaru is

Shimaru is a training-habit app: it schedules short exercise sessions and rings alarms that are dismissed by completing a camera-verified exercise. It is a motivation tool — not medical, health, or fitness advice.

Exercise at your own risk

Exercising involves risk of injury. Shimaru may suggest a starting exercise and target based on your answers; a suggestion is a generic starting point, not professional advice, and only you can tell whether it suits you. Choose exercises and targets that match your condition, stop if something hurts, and consult a doctor if you are unsure. You exercise at your own risk.

Subscription

Shimaru is unlocked by an auto-renewing subscription purchased through your Apple account. Prices, the trial length, and renewal terms are always shown in the app before you buy. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. A free trial, when offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. If your subscription lapses, your data is kept and comes back when you resubscribe.

Streak Shields

Streak Shields are one-time purchases consumed inside the app. They have no money value outside the app and cannot be transferred.

Refunds

All payments are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under their terms — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Fair use

Don't attempt to break, abuse, or reverse-engineer the app, and don't use it in a way that breaks the law.

No warranty

Shimaru is provided "as is". We work hard to make alarms reliable, but no software is perfect — do not rely on any alarm app, ours included, when missing a wake-up could cause serious harm. Our liability for any claim connected to Shimaru — including injuries from exercise — is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the last 12 months. This limit does not apply to harm caused by our intent or gross negligence, and some places do not allow limits like these at all — there, it applies only as far as the law permits.

Changes

We may update these terms; changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of Japan.

Language

These terms are drafted in Japanese, which is the governing text. This English translation is provided for convenience; if the two versions ever disagree, the Japanese text prevails.
